Jonathan Reinarz from the University of Birmingham delivered a presentation based on his current collaborative research project with Gayle Davis at the University of Edinburgh titled “Simulating Injuries in Twentieth-Century British First Aid.” Jonathan introduced our conversation with some context about the British Casualties Union, which was formed during WWII and used realistic simulations to train first aid and civil defense workers. The project combines insights from history and performance studies.
