Mike is interested in the history of risk, accident prevention, and safety education, focused on modern Britain and in particular the railroad industry. He co-leads the collaborative “Railway Work, Life & Death” project, exploring the personal impacts of injuries and deaths on British and Irish railroad staff before 1939 (www.railwayaccidents.port.ac.uk).
